Hot Sulphur Springs Campground

Solid 4. I was worried about road noise, but I can't hear it. The train, however, will blow your socks off as there is a crossing just outside of the campground and further down stream so you get the full effect. The crossing is on the road to the hot springs, so if you're deaf, love trains, and/or want to be close to the hot springs, I'd recommend the higher number sites. Bring your own water as there is none available. It is also dusty in dry weather. There is a nice bicycle and walking trail close by that goes up the river are off limits to motorized vehicles. They show up on satellite view and have a closed gate.

A single passenger train during the day, and FIVE freight trains while we tried to sleep that blew the whistle so much it seemed they were doing it for spite. Fantastic if you’re already deaf, otherwise drive west a few miles for *free* dispersed camping. We stayed because of the walking distance to the hot springs and public house but it wasn’t worth it, *even if it was free.* Of course, it didn’t help that there was a piece of rebar sticking up in the parking area that I tripped over and *dislocated my shoulder!!* The park said they’ll get that fixed as of October 2023, but for the aforementioned reasons, we’ll never be back. Looks like a great place for day use, a picnic, and river access however.

Beautiful campsite. The trains going through at all hours isn't great but being next to the Colorado River and the hot springs makes up for it!

As other have said, it is nearby a train track with level crossing so of this is going to be an issue at night then perhaps look elsewhere. It is right next the river if want to get your feet wet. As of July 2025, it’s clean and well looked after. Payment system is online so I had no ATT signal. 7670 Diner nearby has wifi and open 08.00-21.00. Solid food.

I didn’t know it was a campground. The baths are excellent. It’s a clean place a little hokey. Definitely not your high-end luxury premium experience but it’s really just all about the excellent waters. They have really very strong, sulfur baths 102 to 104, they have moderate sulfur baths at similar temperatures or lower temperatures. They also have a magnesium pool, which has very nice warm water that is full of magnesium sulfate and you feel very boy intended. It is wonderful for the skin. It’s certainly rejuvenated and refreshed my body.
