Hot Creek Campground

I loved this place. Very clean. Quiet and out of the way with about 8 miles of washboard gravel road to get there! Fires were permitted. No fees, first come first served. We didn’t see or speak to the host. Pull through available. Warm natural springs nearby was our main interest. It was worth the experience to be away from the crowds.

It was a chilly weekend, but Hot Creek was really pleasant! We enjoyed the space and so many things to explore! We weren't brave enough to swim in the hot springs, but others did and said it was very enjoyable - plenty of room! There are multiple areas for swimming! There is a boat launch area in the marsh where fishermen were enjoying peace and quiet! A great experience, would go again!

What a fantastic place. This was my goal to visit and got to finally. BLM land free campground, free RV dump, free RV water, free hot springs. This was a really fun place.

This is very much an open- air free-for-all kind of campground. It has bathrooms but they're a one stall permanent outhouse kind of fixture. Blm seems to do a decent job at keeping them stopped with toilet paper, but there's no running water in the bathrooms... The only running water is frost-frees placed around the campground. We didn't mind the dry camping situation. I just wanted to be clear for anybody aiming at Hot Creek campground... Some high class glamorous glamping campground. The hot springs are not hot. They are warm. But it's the situation where when you stand up out of the, even in 80 90° weather you will feel cold. The water is as clear as Tahoe and the views are stunning!

This place is Beautiful, as long as you check the weather before you get here 🤦‍♀️ we stayed here in my kids had a blast!! We had to leave early do to sever winds. I have some amazing videos but for some reason it won’t let me post videos (bummer) Hot creek is probably 80 Degrees just my personal guess but we are definitely coming back 100% in spring.
