Horseshoe Flats Campground

What a charming little campground directly across the James River from Scottsville, VA. Our campsite backed up to the river with full hookups. Cheryl and Amy really made us feel at home. Perfectly located to go exploring the many local wineries and tour Monticello. The historic downtown is worth a couple of hours of your time. Small but quaint! You have our vote!!

This is a great, small, family run campground. They have a nice spot to wade in the water. We used their bus service to take us up the river and float back down. We brought our own floats, but they have some you can rent. We loved the place and we will definitely be back again!

This place is so awesome. It is more of a quiet, peaceful, adult atmosphere. I'm sure kids are welcome I just don't want you taking my spot haha. Because the staff here is excellent as well. Especially Cheryl what a sweetheart I found her to be. The property is well maintained with upgrades all the time it seems. There is a mountain of firewood. Literally, a mountain. and buy and burn all you want. I wish I could stay but gotta move on down the road. Thanks you guys for being so cool! Really was a cool place even though my girl took off with no explanation and no warning. Still a little bitter. Really enjoyed the pics from the bridge. Adam

We just got back from here and will definitely be back. This is a wonderful small family owned campground. Verizon was 2 or 3 bars and Wi-Fi worked well in our space. Scottsville is a great town to walk into with lots to see and do in a small town. Loved the outdoor showers, great water pressure and hot temps.

This is the perfect hidden gem ! Beautiful, spacious RV sites next to the James River. Plenty of room for both RVs and tents. The distance to Charlottesville was an easy drive and a better choice than the KOA. The owner was friendly and instantly felt like we were visiting family.
