My husband and I LOVE this campground. We have always had such a lovely time. It is FCFS but we have never had an issue getting a site and it’s $31/night. We like how it feels secluded, yet we are only 30 minutes from home. There are port-a-potties on site but no dumpsters. The size of each site is perfect for a couple or small family. We have seriously never had a bad time here. I would just look at the website beforehand to check for any closures.

By far the best camp site I have ever been to! It was huge and private. We estimated about 30' at the opening and 50' long. We could have easily fit 3 large tents to the side of the vehicle pad, or 2 large tents and another vehicle, but since it was just me and my wife with our teardrop trailer, that became our spot to lay in the hammock and lounge around our propane fire pit. We parked our trailer on the vehicle pad, and there was enough room to park my truck in font of it (perpendicular to the trailer and parallel to the road), so that it closed off the entry to our site. There was easily 10' free space behind my truck, so I estimate the site opening to be about 30' wide. At the back of the site was the picnic table, fire pit, and bbq grill. Super private back there, with no other s

Excellent campground! Easy to get to as well. Paved road all the way with two lanes except last bit is packed dirt / gravel. Four-wheel drive not necessary here. Camp host is great and they are trying to restore water to the campground. Every site has about 80 to 90% shade for the whole day. Lots of little hikes around the site and vaulted toilets are great. BBQ pits and fire pits are good and tent sites are nice and flat. Every site we examined had at least two spots for tents. Squaw peak overlook is close as well and is beautiful. Lots of trees. Bring bug spray. Also bring your own water and firewood. Camp host does have some wood for sale but don't count on it.

No host, plenty of open sites, self pay, pit toilets, and no water or firewood. It was difficult to find a flat space for our tent, and we don’t have a big tent. We had to go back into town to get water and firewood at the store (there’s a wonderful grocery store nearby with everything you’d ever need). The drive up is gorgeous! Saw deer twice and a fox!

First time camping here, very new to camping. Gorgeous drive up in the fall. Arrived at 3pm and only a few places taken, was first come first serve. We picked site 8. Great secluded spot, but I can understand complaints about small tent space and no privacy. We were lucky hardly anyone showed up on a Sunday. Area was beautiful, lots of nature sites to see. Never saw/met the host. No running water. Brought our own firewood and water. Toilets are a pit but we're clean, just far from our site. Some guy came walking right through our campsite though, it was unnerving from the woods behind us like it was no big deal. Also lots of wasps or hornets, pretty annoying, but they were just thirsty, it's not their fault. Overall, enjoyable experience. Would camp here again.
