Homewood Suites by Hilton Miami Dolphin Mall

Fantastic hotel if you have a layover or need to be near the miami airport. Has a mini kitchen of a fridge, sink, microwave, and stove top. Insane shopping deals at the dolphin mall and many great dining options, plus a really nice movie theater. Outside entertainment at the mall in the evenings. The hotel breakfast was great they changed up the options so its not the same exact breakfast everyday, very nice thoughtful idea, many hotels and staff are lazy they would avoid this. Thank you very much, little touches like this make customers return. Great spacious and clean gym, not many machines, but not many people workout here. Safe area too, felt safe walking to the mall at all hours of the day. One flaw which is so common in hotels, you really need to take cell phones away from staff. Eve

Going back to Marriott My stay at the Homewood Suites near Dolphin Mall was a complete disaster. The hotel overcharged me, and when I brought it to their attention with clear proof, they refused to refund the overage. That alone is enough to warn anyone away from this property. Unfortunately, the problems didn’t stop there. The service was consistently horrible. Staff couldn’t follow simple directions, acted indifferent, and showed no understanding of basic hospitality. They charge a “service fee” for ordering food — even though you still have to go downstairs and pick it up yourself — and the disclosure is buried in what looks like 1‑point font, which feels intentionally deceptive. Very good hotel, clean, comfortable, modern. Staff was friendly, good breakfast, well stocked, good selection. Good hotel fitness center. I would give it a 5 but they were doing some work in rooms on our floor and there was a strong chemical smell on our floor. Getting off the elevator to the room was very bad fumes. Inside the room we couldn't smell it. Maybe ask about this if you book. Close to everything you need. Grandkids liked the pool.

this is our home away from home as we are hilton honors members, however on this visit to Miami our flight was delayed and our luggage took forever to arrive on the ramp at the airport causing further delay, we got the hotel at about 2am only to be told our room was cancelled and they are filled and we will have to find somewhere else to stay at 2am. Thankfully the Marriott was graceful and gave us a room, the attendant at the front desk was super nice and welcoming. We were extremely disappointed having given Hilton our business for so many years and to be treated this way. An email was sent to the manager but to date no response to add to our disappointment. Looking to take our business elsewhere, perhaps the Marriott.
