Hometown Inn & Suites

The staff was friendly and made sure our room was ready for early check in, as we had to be at a wedding shortly after check-in. This may also be the only hotel left that still allows smoking in certain rooms. It was really nice to be able to truly relax in my room. However, I'm a smoker, but the elevator and second floor smell overpoweringly like cigarettes. Some odor absorbers and air fresheners would probably do the trick. The toilet seat was wonky and felt like it was going to break and I would fall to the side, every time I sat on it. It probably just needs a new seat. We got back to the hotel late, only to discover that our TV did not work. I contacted the front desk but was told it was too late in the evening to have anyone come up to fix it, so I would have to wait until the mornin

Unprofessional and dirty. Tried to kick us out a day BEFORE our check out date because they didn't charge us their credit card fee, didn't even apologize for waking us up at 5/6 in the morning, NOTHING. The whole hotel reeks of cigarette smoke, saw the housekeeper actively smoking in non smoking rooms, and knocked on our door calling house keeping despite us having the do not disturb sign up. Hotel rooms are dirty, everything about the room was. The baseboards, the furniture, the bedding. Everything. Do not stay here what a joke.

My son & I stayed in Schererville HomeTown for 2 nights. Managerial attention was very helpful, especially reconnecting us back up to Wi-Fi & TV. Housekeeping brought us more linens as needed. The bedroom & bathroom & bedding was clean, no mold or bugs. A/C, microwave & refrigerator all in working condition. No breakfast served nor was it expected, not a B&B. Just a clean sleeping room.|| We're not connected to owners or managers in any way. Just read the reviews and am so grateful that that was not our experience. Would definitely stay again.

!! This place scams !! On morning 5/6 I got a call from housekeeping "reminding" me that I had to check out at 11. I went down to sort it out and they were going to kick me out because THEY mischarged me 25 dollars. Otherwise never had this bad of an experience at a motel before. the entire hotel smelled of cigarette smoke- even saw the housekeeper smoking while cleaning a non smoking room. The room was gross too, the carpet was grimey.
