We took a middle of the week getaway with friends and had a wonderful time. My husband and I stayed in the Cottonwood suite, and it did not disappoint. Watching the wildlife right outside our windows was an added bonus as well as sitting around the fire pit in the evenings. We explored the trails on the property as I love to hike. The Willis Prarie had the most spectacular views. Just a short drive to Manhattan allowed us to experience some of the local restaurants and businesses, too. We will definitely be back!

We booked the Cottonwood Suite at Homeplace for our wedding and are so happy we chose to stay there. The room is gorgeous and the amenities were a huge plus. The bed was super comfortable, the heated bathroom floors felt amazing, the jacuzzi tub was so relaxing, and the setting of the suite couldn't have been more perfect. From our room, we enjoyed watching woodpeckers, cardinals, a turkey, and the friendly cat patrolling the property. We took bridal party pictures there and I know they will come out beautiful. Being about a quarter of a mile away from our wedding venue was so convenient. We already want to stay again the next time we are in manhattan.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed this lovely suite for my birthday. The hosts had phenomenal communication and were very welcoming! The suite was immaculately clean. The fresh cookies were a sweet touch! Despite the temperature we enjoyed a stroll on the kayaks down the creek. The silence was lovely. We enjoyed the walking trails as we watched the sunset. We loved the winery a mile up the dirt road. We enjoyed the outside firepit as we gazed the stars. We will definitely return come spring or summer!

Perfect peaceful serenity in the prairie. We stayed in the Cottonwood suite one night but I wish it had been longer. We loved this secluded retreat! The lovely hosts have thought of everything and then stepped it up a notch in luxury - heated bathroom floors, mini ice maker, beautiful large window views to the wildlife and that tub!! I was impressed to see a filtered water pitcher, wine glasses, corkscrew, 2 place settings, AND a small pitcher of cream for the in-room coffee. Food can be delivered directly to the door, so if we never wanted to leave the suite or grounds, we wouldn't have to. Highly recommend this gem of a getaway just the outside of Manhattan.

We stayed here at the recommendation of one of my wife's friends. What a wonderful place! You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in it. From the well-kept bird feeders outside of the window paired with some good birdwatching books in the main room, to the handwritten welcome note and stocked mini fridge, it's apparent that every detail has been thought of. It snowed quite a bit during our weekend there so we didn't get out as much as we'd planned but spending the weekend in our room, relaxing with the snow outside, was picture perfect. What a great romantic getaway. We will definitely stay here again.
