Holland Lake Lodge

In 2016 or 17, I walked in after a hike, so probably a bit dirty, trying to see if I could buy a coffee. The woman working there was so extremely rude I've never wanted to go back inside and haven't stepped foot near there since. She acted like my presence was offensive. People go to Holland Lake to swim and hike, I looked like a regular Montanan - felt like I unknowingly trespassed into the Yellowstone Club with how rude she was. This lodge operates and makes money because it is on PUBLIC land in Montana where the median income is $53k. They make a huge profit because they rent PUBLIC land for cheap and are in a beautiful PUBLIC area. They act like they own the lake and every person who shows up to use it is a nuisance for them. I sure hope (based on recent recommendations) that Christian found Jesus or something, because when we were there he flat out ruined our wedding experience. Some highlights:||1) Charged us a per-stem fee when asked if he could store 2 buckets of flowers in their walk-in overnight as we were doing our own flowers to save money. We could only afford a 35 person wedding and some of our guests couldn't afford to stay at the lodge so were next door in the campground.||2) About 10 minutes before our ceremony, I was sitting at the bar with a friend and my brothers, ordered a single drink. Christian made sure to swoop by and tell the server that what I ordered wasn't included in our drinks package and should be charged to my room. We LOVE Holland Lake Lodge!!! This August will be our third time at the lodge and we look forward to it every year! Everything about our experiences have been over the top! Christian and his sweet mother, Nancy, have always treated us like family and it has been such fun! We have stayed in a cabin on the lake which is simple, rustic and much like summer camp with everything you need. The view is gorgeous! The lodge itself is also "old school" which is so refreshing in these times. There are also rooms in the lodge itself. The bar and restaurant are warm and inviting with delicious meals and specialties made by Nancy. I had heard so many wonderful things about Holland Lake Lodge prior to going, but it beat all my expectations! Many places have lost the magical touch of quality hospitality, but they did it so well. They made an effort to get to know each person at the lodge at a personal level. It felt like I was home for the holidays and was being taken care of by my family. I would highly recommend treating yourself to a weekend in paradise!

We stayed in the Lodge about a week ago and cannot say enough how much we loved our time there. Christian and his mother are absolute gems, and their hospitality is really what elevated our stay. The location is absolutely stunning. The included meals were refined and upscale without feeling pretentious. Guests have access to unlimited firewood for lakeside bonfires, which we took full advantage of, what a treat! I kept feeling a lovely sense of nostalgia... it puts a smile on my face just thinking about it. We will definitely be making our stay at Holland Lake Lodge a yearly tradition.
