Holiday Motel

So I wound up here by necessity. The weather is changing. Can't sleep in the car anymore so I found a job and then I found a place to live close to it. I'm a mile from my job in a 2 mile stretch of the highway. Here there is everything you need to shop. I mean, or eat or whatever everything is here. The gentleman that manages the place is very nice. Hes concerned about cleanliness. There is drug activity here. But the drug addicts tend to keep doing thembecause they don't want to get kicked out. But overall, I haven't had a problem, yes.

We got to this place really late at night after a long day of driving. We were all really tired and desperate just to sleep. We spoke to a woman who charged us $40 for the night and kept asking repeatedly if we were ok with Non smoking. Who cares about the smoking? The problem was the filthy carpet, filthy sheet and bedspread which were just so gross. The bath was so dirty that when we ran the shower, piles of dirt ran off it. So we were up pretty quickly the next morning eager to get out of there. Why keep a motel if you're not even going to try and keep some basic cleanliness. The owner's house looked pretty bad too from what we saw, don't know how they live like that. Do not go here, no matter how desperate you are. Look at downtown Kalamazoo, there are some good places to stay

Only way to describe it is a dump. Dirty, has bugs and there isn't any staff at all. We stayed a week and had to buy our own toilet paper when we ran out. The office had none. Never again.

Checked into the Holiday Motel in Portage, MI one sunny afternoon on a weekday. After waiting several minutes, a pleasant man came and charged a flat $40 for the night. A sign on the wall indicated that people lived there. In marker, "only 1 roll of toilet paper per week" had been added. Which makes me wonder: Who is using all the TP? ||We met a friendly, braless woman who requested a lighter and told her about one we'd seen sitting on a chair outside. Inside, the room smelled like stale cigarettes. I like the industrial chic design... well, I mean, someone tore the smoke detector on the wall. Exposed wires is the poor man's exposed brick! They don't even put blankets on the bed must be because the air-conditioning don't work it was ghetto as he'll, but I guess you get what you pay for.
