Holiday Inn Express Wilkesboro by IHG

We had a very pleasant experience at this hotel! My family stayed here and our ministry was hosting an event here. Let me start by saying that we have an incredible amount of hotel stays under our belt, so you can trust me when I say this was a good one! When it came to our event, we were offered help with whatever we needed and staff was very attentive and kind! (We have hosted events across the country, and that is surprisingly rare when using a hotel as a venue.) We also had a very great experience with our personal stay. We had housekeeping come around a few times over a few days, and our trash changed out quickly when placed outside. We were asked if we needed anything when walking passed the housekeeping staff. Positive: The staff were very friendly and helpful from the front desk and all of the housekeepers we passed in the hallways. The breakfast was amazing, the location was great, and there were plenty of places to eat out at and shop at to buy necessities. Negative: I wish they had an indoor pool because the outdoor pool was closed when we visited in late September which was understandable. Other than that, I really can't think of anything.

This little hotel has been a wonderful choice to stay at for the past 5 years. I attend a retreat held there twice a year and has absolutely no complaints about this place. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The ballroom where we meet is spacious and clean throughout the weekend. My room is comfortable and meets my needs at a price-friendly point. The staff, from manager, front desk, to the cleaning staff, all are friendly and so kind. I always can count on a great weekend here each time I stay.

I came to stay at Holiday Inn express but I was at the local Hampton Inn prior to that. I am so glad that I changed over to the Holiday Inn express. Donald, the sweet dining room worker as well as Guadalupe the room service lady were so spectacular. Every time I came to work on the weekend they were always so precious and Guadalupe, especially, was so excited to see me and my children. I’m sure these folks are considered lowest on the totem pole at this company, but they are absolutely the reason why this company has life and breath and a heartbeat. We have been staying at this hotel for years during our vacation. We have always been very pleased here; however, that has changed. This establishment has gone downhill. The staff were not friendly, and the lady serving the breakfast was quite rude. The room was subpar with mold and mildew in the bathroom, and the sitting chair in the room was so worn out that the vinyl covering was broken and in spots missing. The carpet in our room was very stained. We were disappointed this year.
