Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mebane by IHG

Overall we had a great stay. The breakfast had a good variety for those without dietary restrictions. A few non-dairy additions (like non-dairy milk) would be a welcomed addition. The self-serve 24 hour coffee machines were a nice surprise. Despite being adjacent to the highway it's relatively quiet and the blackout shades help with a good night's sleep. There are areas for improvement with some maintenance like the washing machines and ice machines not working, flickering lights in some places and the like. The beds were a bit uncomfortable as a side sleeper (too hard) but the pillows were great and my kids slept so... Everything was very clean and was comfortable. The shower was great with excellent water pressure and good products, wall mounted pumps of Dove brand products- shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. We couldn’t hear any noise at all from the hallway or other rooms. Breakfast went until 10 and checkout wasn’t until 11, both of which were greatly appreciated after a long day of driving and late night the day/night of our stay. All staff we encountered were wonderful.

They need to update the room. My bench looked terrible. Ensure wash cloths and towels are clean. Wash cloths had pubic hair on them. Sheets had stain. My air didn’t work.

LET THE TRAVELER BEWARE!!! THEY CHARGE $100 PER NIGHT FOR INCIDENTALS. This was the first time I have ever heard of this. Its usually one charge for incidentals for the entire stay, not per night. I was caught off guard and had no choice. I very rarely stay at IHG properties anymore because its always a hit or a miss. In addition, I requested a first floor and it was confirmed when I arrived early. The room wasnt ready and I understood. I left and came back around 6pm. The clerk tried to give me a 2nd floor room because she said the only room on the first floor was king suite and she would need to speak with her GM. Staff was extremely professional and kind. Room was fine but would expect the furniture not to be damaged/run down. See attached pics. I am sure the issues in these pics could be easily remediated, but I think anyone would admit that these types of things take away from the guest experience.
