Holiday Inn Express & Suites Madison - Verona, an IHG Hotel

We’ve stayed at many hotels for sports tournaments but this hotel is worth a mention. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate and make us comfortable. One example. Our team had early games both days on MLK weekend…too early for the hot breakfast but there were some grab n go items and coffee, so no worries there. The second day the breakfast staff actually came in early to make sure our kiddoes were fueled with a hot breakfast before we headed out for our game. That kind stuff makes this hotel worth mentioning for going the extra mile to make us feel welcome.

Excellent in every aspect! The staff was amazing. They catered to our every need. The place looked and smelled incredibly clean. The rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. The pool and hot tub area were both equipped for wheelchair access, with lifts in both areas. The hot tub was large and worked well. The breakfast area was clean and welcoming. With a fireplace and plenty of areas to sit and comfortably eat and converse. The food was very good with a large array of choices including a pancake making machine. The location was safe and easy to access within 10 minutes of downtown Madison. It is a greatvchoice for business or pleasure.

Positive: What a wonderful welcome by the front desk staff! The room was prepared with a lot of love and attention. The breakfast was excellent. All staff including food prep, housekeeping were friendly, upbeat and took pride in their job. Very nice people. Negative: Pool seemed way over chlorinated!

In general, this property satisfies expectations that one would normally have of a Holiday Inn Express or other mid-tier lodging. It is clean, quiet, comfortable, secure, and pleasant. With the exception described below, everything worked.||There was a glitch that revealed a negative and a positive. Negative in that such things should not happen, positive in that the hotel cheerfully offered an acceptable resolution. Long story short: shortly after checking in, I noticed that the TV was not working (could not control anything other than power and volume). After 45 minutes of a (friendly) maintenance guy fiddling with it (coming and going three times), I asked the front desk if they could just move me to another room. I’ve been coming to this Holiday Inn Express in Verona for the past 15 years while attending Epic training. While it’s nothing overly fancy, it has always been consistently clean and comfortable. What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the outstanding customer service. The staff go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The evening happy hours are a great way to unwind after a long day of training, and the convenient shuttle service makes getting to and from Epic stress-free.
