Holiday Inn Express & Suites Limerick - Pottstown by IHG

We stayed at this Holiday Inn for a family wedding and booked multiple rooms. What we found was shocking:| • The hotel is clearly under major construction – with dust, constant noise, bad smells, and even a dangerous second-floor railing held together with tape and wood.| • The elevator was broken during our stay, and we had to carry four large suitcases down three floors at checkout.| • The pool was closed, despite being listed as available when we booked.| • The receptionist lied multiple times – first saying the pool would be ready “tomorrow,” then that the elevator just needed “a reset.” Nothing got fixed.| • Staff were rude and unhelpful, with zero concern for guests’ safety or comfort.||There was a strong construction smell throughout the building, adding to the sense that this hotel

LOCATION: Close to the outlet mall and family nearby. ROOM: Dark colors, modern & clean. BATHROOM: Basic with a single sink. HOUSEKEEPING: Unfortunately, they did not clean our room on our last night there (left the room at 10am and returned the next morning around 1am, so it was too late to request a cleaning). We had room #330, which is right next door to a housekeeping storage room. On our last morning, a group of housekeepers congregated outside around 7am and woke us up. We pounded on our door which broke up the festivities. At check out, we did receive an apology from the front desk. We also mentioned that our room wasn't serviced the day before, which the front desk agent noted, but didn't receive any compensation or apology. F&B: There's a complimentary breakfast in the dining

This was our first time staying in a recently renovated Holiday Inn Express. We wanted to really like it - everything was nice enough, but overall it just seemed okay. Pros: * Courteous, friendly, and professional check in - status was recognized, and it was great a key was already made for a room on the top floor as requested. * The room design was modern and inviting. Everything was also exceptionally clean, but most importantly it was extremely quiet at night, leading to peaceful slumber in the comfy bed. * There were plenty of outlets for devices, and enough closet and drawer space, plus a decent sized desk area. * We had a lovely view of the Limerick power plant. 😅 * The bathroom was a decent size, and the shower had great water pressure. Cons: * The room seemed a bit cramped with 2

This is the second time I’ve stayed in this hotel. I was impressed the year prior for the cleanliness of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff and was a great location for me being 1/4 mile off 422. There’s also a Wawa gas station right down the road. This year, I am equally impressed. The rooms are actually better as they are in the process of remodeling. The blinds can completely block all sunlight if necessary. I’ll definitely be staying at this location next year whenever I come back out here.

Positive: Hotel is in a good location and it was and quiet. For a hotel under renovation it was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Negative: Only one hook for a towel in the bathroom. We had to fold towels to sit on the sink which didn't allow them to dry. The hotel is undergoing renovations so hopefully this was just temporary. Construction limited parking.
