Holiday Inn Express & Suites Corpus Christi-N Padre Island, an IHG Hotel

Positive: Clean. Great breakfast, lots of hot choices and very hard working lady keeping it clean and filled. . Nice location right across the street from beach access. Very easy to get to the beach. All staff were super friendly. Negative: Nope

Location in relation to beach is great. Do yourself a favor and spend your time hanging out at the hotel directly across the street. It’s beach front and has a delicious bar and grill called Anchor bar and grill! Cheap drinks and eats! I unfortunately couldn’t enjoy my stay at this holiday inn because it smelled like a pet store (despite there being no pets) and was so humid. They need a good air purifier and dehumidifier, and a scented diffuser throughout the hotel (Like the Westin uses for example) and it would have been a more pleasant stay. Other than the smell, I had no other issues though! Could have just been a temporary thing!

We have stayed at this specific hotel many times over the years to enjoy the beach and have NEVER had any issues with booking online and booking the same way every time with no deposit required and cancel within 5 days of your stay. We recently booked a stay again with this hotel several weeks ago for May 2026. We booked it early to receive a good rate and did. Today our reservation was canceled stating we chose a stay requiring a deposit (which is fine) but I did not select that option and the hotel even tried to charge a credit card that was not even mine and never has been. So after calling customer service (which they DID NOT help at all) was a waste of time. Now the rate is higher to stay and and instead of customer service just matching the rate we did several weeks ago they want to

I am a Diamond Elite member and have been extremely loyal to IHG over the years, staying hundreds of nights annually without prior issue. Unfortunately, this experience has been deeply disappointing. I explained that I would like to check in and was informed the room would not be ready until later in the day. I advised the representative that I would be arriving within approximately an hour, and when told the room was still unavailable, I informed her that I would return later due to business obligations. I had a very disappointing experience at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Corpus Christi–N Padre Island. The service was horrible and extremely unprofessional from start to finish. Communication from the front desk was very poor. We were told our room wasn’t ready, so we didn’t arrive until later. Unfortunately, we ended up getting busy and arrived late — only to be charged a late fee due to this miscommunication, which was frustrating and unfair given that the delay stemmed from the hotel’s own lack of clarity. On top of that, the room itself was unacceptable.
