Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cincinnati SE Newport, an IHG Hotel

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I have never even complained about a hotel in my life, and would not be writing this review if they had been willing to make things right, but they are not. I have called multiple times requesting a refund, and only recieved a partial refund for my four night stay. We were visiting the area for appointments for my two medically complex children. I was traveling alone with my kids. The room that was joined to my room did not lock. The deadbolt that was meant to lock it was not functional, and the door could simply be pushed open. I called the front desk, who informed me that it couldn't be fixed until the next day. I was not comfortable staying with my kids, alone, in a room that didnt appropriately lock. Room was nice except it could have been a little bit cleaner. The sheets were dirty. The floor has m&ms under the coffee table which makes me think it was not throughly vacuumed or cleaned. Overall for the price, it was not bad but it did not meet my expectations. Additionally, the day we checked in they told us breakfast was served from 6-10 but they didn’t mention there would not be any hot breakfast. I asked the lady about it when we realized they only had bagels, cereal, and yogurt out and she said the cooking ladies were not working due to the holiday. Apparently, it was plastered all over the hotel but it would have been nice if the person checking us in would have mentioned that. Furthermore, the paper she mentioned was very long. Very nice hotel. Updated and lovely room. Very clean too. Comfortable beds, also was quiet. Included a hot breakfast which was very good. I would recommend this hotel.

I really don't know what the bad reviews are about. I mean it's not the Ritz it's a Holiday Inn 🤣 The room was clean, and very spacious. It had full size bottles of toiletries which was very nice. The bed was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was great! It even had turkey sausage, and many options! Overall we would stay here again!
