Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chester-Monroe-Goshen by IHG

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights from January 1 to January 4, 2026, and during that time we were very satisfied with everything. The manager was friendly and professional, room cleaning was perfect, and the overall experience was excellent. The breakfast service during those days also deserves special mention. The Ukrainian lady who was working in the breakfast area did an amazing job — from the moment breakfast started until closing, the buffet was always full. She constantly refilled the food and made sure nothing was missing. Unfortunately, we decided to extend our stay by one more night, and that is something we truly regretted. I've stayed multiple times at this hotel as it is close to West Point for gymnastics meet. This last time was amazing. I had issues with my reservation and Lauren at the front desk was wonderful. She was able to help me get a room for two nights, and was just so incredibly helpful and kind! The rooms have been redone and the overall stay was just perfect. Thanks Lauren and IHG for making my stay fabulous!

We stayed here for a quick overnight stop and overall had a good experience. The location is very convenient—right off the highway—yet we were pleasantly surprised that the room was pretty quiet. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and the fitness center was better than expected for a hotel in this price range.||Breakfast had a nice variety of options and was kept well stocked, which we appreciated. The pool, on the other hand, was just okay—not bad, but nothing especially memorable.||The one downside was the room temperature. It was tough to get the heat/AC to stay at a comfortable level, and we suspected something might have been off with the furnace unit. Positive: The breakfast was very good except the pancake machine was broken on one day. The hotel provided free newspapers and afternoon cookies which were excellent. Also they provided free laundry access which was very helpful. Negative: My room had major spackle patches in various ceiling areas. This took away from the aesthetic. Two days straight there was a guest smoking pot in a room and the smell permeated the hall. I had to address the front desk about it.

My experience at Holiday inn express, 2 Bryle place, Chester NY proved to be the worst of any hotel in my life. I'm not talking about the room itself or the breakfast I'm just talking about the concierge. After breakfast myself and my friend and brother went back to our room to shower and pack before check out at 11. It was 9am. When we tried to get back in the room our pass keys were disabled. I asked one of the maids if she'd let us in and explained that we still had 2 hours left before check out. She told me that I'd have to go downstairs. She said " This happens all the time." My friend and brother, who is legally blind and has a medical condition, went downstairs with me. No one was at the desk.
