Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook-Long Island by IHG

Of my last seven or eight hotel stays, which were mainly Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn by Hilton and Hyatt Place this hotel was head and shoulders superior. It’s a very large and spacious property. The service is fantastic. Very friendly staff. They keep the place in impeccable and again I was really pleasantly surprised. I would’ve thought a Holiday Inn would not be as nice as the affirmation chains when in fact it was far nicer. The room’s better the linens better the breakfast better and the staff better trained friendly happy to be there. Happy to help.

We had an excellent stay on July 30 at this hotel. It seemed like it was brand new & it was spotless. We got a great night sleep & the free breakfast in the morning, before going to a funeral, was very good. We stayed there to attend a funeral & we live 3 hours away. I highly recommend this hotel.

I loved the pond sitting area with horse sculptures and fountain flanked by two flowering pear trees! It started me off with a great impression. Check-in was easy and your employees were helpful and friendly. I liked the open floor plan with open dining area across from reception. Everything looked neat and clean. The room was recently and newly modernized; everything was crisp and clean from the bathtub to the sheets. I loved the chaise lounge and coffee/refrigerator nook. The small side closet just for the iron and ironing board was great; they no longer clog up the closet. I appreciated that the safe was built into the floor and wall of the closet to make it more secure. It's in a better location than high up where short people can't reach. The bed was comfortable. What a beautiful experience we had. Was rocky with our rooms being mixed up when we got there .I booked 4 rooms so that me, my kids and grandchildren can be together to enjoy New Years Eve. It was important for us to be together. Something happened when I booked online. I was upset the rooms were on 2 different floors but a special thank you to Gabriel and Anthony at the front desk it was just a beautiful New Years. I publicly would like to say sorry for being emotional to them and let everyone know they both kept their professionalism and kindness at a 10. Customer Service was a 10. Recently stayed here and had the worst experience. Its unfortunate considering the reviews were mostly great. The check-in experience was fine. We wanted to rest on the bed after settling in but quickly noticed that the bed sheet was soiled with what looked like snot and mucus. When we called to ask for clean bedding, they gave us a twin sized blanket for a king sized bed. We decided to not call again because we were told there was no housekeeping staff around. When entering the bathroom we saw an assistive device shower chair (unsure why that was left in the room) with soap stains and water from previous guests. The shower hose was separated from the metal covering and we were concerned it might burst while trying to shower. When we called, the employee who came to our room expressed an
