Holiday Inn Express Southington by IHG

Positive: The beds were comfortable. The pool was nice, my grandchildren really enjoyed it. The breakfast had a nice selection of foo options. Negative: The bathroom was dirty. The room was very small for three people. Towels were stained and not very soft.

I booked this place by mistake, thinking it was the Holiday Inn in Mildale (another part of Southington) but it ended up being the same price, and I got free breakfast. Check in was easy. My room was clean and toasty warm on a cold winter's night. No frills place, but all I needed was a comfortable bed (check) hot shower (check) and some food to get me going. I caught the tail end of breakfast, so things were a little on the cold and stale side, but the magic pancake machine and the coffee were both pluses. I would recommend this place for overnight stays, as the price was reasonable and the place had a clean and friendly vibe.

Very good hotel overall (7.9/10). Stayed 1 night in April. Room size was good for one person, but I imagine would feel cramped with multiple people. In fairness though, I think there are only a few of these smaller rooms in the hotel. Everything worked as it should. Very comfy bed, with a good mix of pillows. Bathroom was fairly small with limited bench space around the basin. Shower was very good. TV was good, as was the channel selection. No TV guide, just a laminated channel list. Breakfast was very good with lots of options (for context, I'm satisfied with a bowl of cereal or some toast). The breakfast room was a good size. Staff were good. I would stay again, as for the price paid ($92 total for a Saturday) it was pretty good value.

Very disrespectful front desk staff and management staff. They would not honor the rate we were quoted for a room. They would not listen to us and canceled our reservation. I have never been treated so badly. Also the windows and lobby area were dirty.

Great customer service from the time of check in to the time of check out. The room was very clean with great quality soap, shampoo, and lotion. The bed was very comfortable along with the pillows and comforter. Great continental breakfast. Highly recommended!
