Holiday Inn Express San Diego-Sea World Area by IHG

By far the best hotel in the area! I'm usually picky about clean beds and modern hallways and this place has it. The staff was especially helpful and friendly. Isabela, Karina and Ophelia were especially friendly and helpful! The room was super clean with modern bathrooms and the beds were as clean as you can get. Will definitely be coming back. Not sure what people have against the area but its completely fine. People can just be dramatic at times.

An excellent stay and easily at the top of its tier. The hotel was exceptionally clean and appeared recently renovated, with modern finishes and a fresh feel throughout. The room was very comfortable and well maintained. The breakfast was surprisingly good, with plenty of options, bacon, sausages, different types of eggs, and more, and it was available over a generous time window from 6 to 10 AM, which made mornings very convenient. The location is another major advantage. Access to SeaWorld, Balboa Park, and downtown San Diego was fast and straightforward, with easy freeway connections nearby. Overall, the experience exceeded expectations for this category, and I would definitely stay here again.

Just want to thank Karina at the front desk for being so patient with my mom as she is almost 80 yrs old. She took her time to explain everything in depth and even offered to help with her luggage. She was truly amazing. Breakfast was also a hit such a good accommodation. Overall such a good stay we will definitely be back

Quick, easy and friendly checkin process upon arrival. Convenient parking under the building. Was concerned about the area when we first arrived but later realized we felt very safe and really appreciated the proximity of all the stores and restaurants and the Pechanga Arena. Breakfast was well appointed and each day had a different main selection. Kitchen staff was very efficient at ensuring food was kept fresh and area was clean. Room was sufficient size for us and it was modern and very clean. Hotel is close to Sea World so lots of families and you can definitely hear kids in other rooms and hallways but everyone was respectful of quiet hours. The good: comfortable beds and AC you can kick down below the standard "65°" and the room and bathroom are clean and the water is hot. The not so good: shower water pressure, hotels never get this right, so okay, not that bad. Then there is road and neighboring room noise. Again, it's not a new hotel, so insulation isn't the greatest I'm sure. So there you go. Would I stay here again? Probably, it's not too shabby.
