Holiday Inn Express Portland SE - Clackamas Area by IHG

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We travelled from Canada for a memorial service and it was convenient and close to the venue. Unfortunately the cost at this location had possibly gone up by the time we booked a room. A relative managed to get a better rate by booking a week or two sooner. Not sure why rates changed like that. Breakfast has very good selection of hot and cold foods. Overall the experience was pretty great and would recommend this stay.

Staff were great no fault to them but the Wi-Fi was terrible. King suite and no Wi-Fi connection at all in the room and could only get it in the hallway. Called the front desk and they gave me the number of their contracted Internet provider whom I called and they just got frustrated and told me they'd call me back because the wifi access point could not reach the room. The front desk offered to move me rooms which is kind and might've solved the issue but I didn't take them up on the offer because I could use a mobile hotspot. Other people might not have this option and certain rooms should not be complete wifi dead-zones in the current day and age.

It’s okay. I stayed here because it’s near my family‘s house. The bed is comfortable, the room is a really good size, I appreciate the good size refrigerator and the pool is somewhat warm. However, there’s a major sinkin hazard in the pool area, it is not safe for any kind of kid to go from the hot tub to the pool or from the pool to the hot tub without falling down or stubbing their toe, breaking their leg, etc. I did ask front desk to bring my extra towels and they declined. Really frustrating because in a bedroom that I specified four people, they only left us four towels. One towel per person you’ve got to be kidding me ?Cleanliness is definitely not on par, I definitely have a few things to complain about, but I guess it’s a good size room, good location (I’m visiting family) and you

Positive: I have stayed here before. The location is convenient, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is also delicious. Negative: Initially, when I got to the hotel, the room was very cold, but I was able to warm it up fairly quickly. I would?ve rather have been on a higher floor than the ground floor. I just feel safer that way.

The location was great. Close to major interstate highways. Convenient grocery store and coffee shop you could walk to in less than 10 minutes. I didn't care for the room service. However I dont expect it daily anymore. We had to empty our own trash on Saturday. Also it appears that the oatmeal was left over and dried out two out of our 4 night stay. Other than that the front desk staff was very polite, friendly and extremely helpful.
