Holiday Inn Express Griffith Hall

It's as nice as military hotels can be. Very friendly staff, needed an extra table for my room, no problem. Location is 10 minutes from any classroom on post. Can't beat that. Decent breakfast, plenty of parking. Laundry on site.

The property has been recently upgraded and is much better than the other IHG Hotels on post. Rooms are spacious and the bathrooms have been upgraded. Overall the nicest place to stay on Ft. Gordon. However, they have a long way to go. First and foremost is their reliance on Direct TV. During my stay, Direct TV did not broadcast local channels that included the Super Bowl. Very bad. Didn't get local channels restored until end of the week. The heating system was very sensitive and would switch from heating to cooling with one degree change. The blanket was covered top and bottom in a sheet which was tucked in such a manner that the bed felt short-sheeted. The drain stopper in the bathroom sink was not connected to the release lever. This property appears to be lacking a basic sense of decorum and guest consideration. The primary reason for this review is the ongoing renovations taking place during the weekend. Guests are subjected to drilling and loud construction noise early in the morning, without any prior notice or courtesy communication. For those staying for work, study, or simply seeking a quiet weekend, this is extremely disruptive. While I understand that renovations are necessary, it is difficult to understand why the hotel continues to accept guests while significant work is underway. I had a great stay here. The staff were friendly, the rooms were huge, and the breakfast was great. The only downside for me was the bathroom was way too small for me and my walker 😭. I had a hard time getting around. The standing shower was a huge plus for me since I can’t get in and out of tubs. I would definitely stay again and I plan on taking a couple of more trips to visit my child before they graduate from AIT.
