Holiday Inn Express Coventry S - West Warwick Area by IHG

It looks like a relatively new Holiday Inn Express, but overall I found the stay disappointing for the price and I wouldn’t rate it highly. The location is convenient if you want shopping nearby — BJ’s Wholesale is right next door, and Home Depot and Walmart aren’t far away. It’s also just off the I-95, so it’s an easy stop if you’re travelling through the area. Breakfast was acceptable, but nothing special. The hotel has a swimming pool, although the water looked a bit foamy when I was there, which didn’t inspire confidence at all. I didn’t use it. There’s also a small gym, which is fine. As a Diamond member I was upgraded, which I appreciated — thank you. It’s unusual to get a suite in a Holiday Inn Express, and the bathroom having a proper bath was a nice surprise. The room was somewhat clean, but the bathroom had 2 dead bugs. The staff at the lobby was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, but it got crowded around 8-8 30am so the waiting line for the toaster was pretty long. It was quiet at night, and since the facility is pretty new, it was quite clean overall.

This was far from the best experience in hotels I’ve had but close to the worst. The room was ok but the food was lousy, the pool was closed, and the bottled water was overpriced. But the worst came after I left. My friend left a bag there by accident. Though they at least called us to let us know, someone in the staff went through the bag and stole about $600 worth of merchandise. All this after the whole fiasco of just trying to get it shipped back. Don’t stay here with these thieves.

Online reviews left me a little concerned, however I can say that they must be fake or inaccurate. I had no issues with my 6 night stay at this hotel. Not really a concern, but observation is the first day the room was cleaned was 4 nights in, Breakfast was always well stocked and all employees I encountered were courteous and professional. Location was great, with easy access, and very walkable to a few restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here.

Amazing bed! Terrific staff! Alot of things not working in hotel itself like elevator, dryer, an ice machine. But still worth it!
