Holiday Inn Express Bradford by IHG

We had high hopes for our stay this past holiday. First time, we stayed during an emergency, and the staff was very kind. While in the process of booking this time the front desked seemed very helpful. For this visit, we called ahead multiple times to make sure our dog was allowed to stay despite not being a service animal. Front desk said yes but booking websites (including their own) didn't give us the option. They assured us we would be put in the proper room. On our first day the keys did not work and we had to wait for staff to open our room everytime. The shower curtain had yellow stains and we needed to replace it ourselves. The hotel is dated. We stayed on the first floor. The room was comfortable however I did find tissue in the bathroom garbage. In the morning I woke up to flea bites on my leg. I told the front desk n showed her my legs. She was very apologetic n offered to refund 5000 points. The manager rescinded this. I contacted the manager Kim several times. She finally took my call 4 days later and I explainedthe situation in full detail. Told me they only allow service animals which is not true it clearly states pet friendly. Several large dogs were in the hotel. Told me I had no proof and I had the flea bites when I got there. She took no responsibility and blamed the flea bites on me. After several phone calls she agreed to refund my points. After a week still unresolved. This was August 15th and

I travel frequently and I'm quite reasonable in my expectations. I realize this isn't a 5-star hotel, but this stay was so bad, I had to say something. This one-night hotel stay was the worst experience in years. The lady at the front desk was quite nice, this review is not about her, but the overall experience. These items can be fixed with the appropriate senior management attention. Complaints: Parking lot not plowed, days after a storm. Very slippery, with large chunks of ice. Unacceptable business liability. Room key was not encrypted properly, so I reached my room with all my bags and had to haul everything back downstairs to fix the room key issue. No hot water. I really appreciate the lady from housekeeping and the lady at the front desk who gave good advice about the best route for traveling to Pittsburgh in the snow. They were knowledgeable about the area and generous about giving advice. Also, the place was clean; breakfast was good. Good location, easy to get to Pitt-Bradford campus, convenient to restaurants and a supermarket

Stayed one night while visiting University Pitt-Bradford. Very clean. Seemed fairly new. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had our dog and there were grassed areas around the building to walk him. Hotel is situated strangely between a river and the RR. I was concerned about noise because it also seemed to be busy the night we were there, but we hardly heard a noise in our room the whole time we were there. Must have good soundproofing. Breakfast was good - several hot choices- eggs, omelets, sausage, french toast, cereal, juices, cinnimon rolls, etc.
