Holden Village

I love this place - a unique remote community surrounded by beautiful wilderness. I am a big fan of the craft cave, educational sessions, and spiritual celebrations.

Holden is a wonderful retreat location with beautiful mountains and trails for hiking. My family stayed for 5 days and enjoyed sledding and crafts hosted by the staff. It was healing to get away from the city for a week and enjoy the peace and quiet. Thank you 😊

I went to Holden Village over 10 years ago with my school, and it’s stuck with me ever since. What I really loved was how welcoming everyone was. Even though it’s rooted in Lutheran tradition, no one made me feel out of place. It reminded me of Jesus’ words: “Love one another as I have loved you”. I saw a negative review criticizing them for being inclusive. Their response made me want to go back even more, thank you Holden Village🙏!

We spent a week at Holden Village. After this experience, I will never return. The he food was awful, the evening vespers were not Christ focused, and the entire focus of the experience was focused on alternative cultures. (She/her, he/him, they/them). This is not endorsed by God nor mentioned in the Bible. The pottery class and the weaving class were both full…filled by kids. The main thing left to do was walk trails or attend the Rosen Movement class run by Karen. The movement class was fabulous, but that is the only one that was worthwhile. This entire experience was terrible! Do not waste your money!
