I stayed here again this weekend (7/15-17) and had an amazing time! Reservations were easy and ridiculously cheap for the value you get out of it. Wildlife is plentiful, had a crane hanging out all weekend, frogs, toads, ducks, and too many others to list. The modern restrooms really help, the running water, soap, and modern toilets are a little slice of heaven when staying at one of the primitive sites. This is probably my favorite area in the entire Midwestern United States. If they allowed me to live here I would. If this is your first time the hike down to the campsite is a little brutal when carrying your gear. I prefer to pack light.
