Hither Hills State Park Campground

This is one of the most peaceful and beautiful camping spots I’ve ever been to. Tucked away from the noise of the city, it’s absolutely worth the 2.5-hour drive if you’re looking to reconnect with nature. The campground stretches from the base of a small hill all the way down toward the ocean. There’s a large, well-organized area for both tents and RVs, with plenty of space and privacy. What truly stands out is the atmosphere — people here are incredibly polite, respectful, and quiet. No loud party music, no rowdy groups. Everyone seems to be here for the same reason: peace, quiet, and the sound of the ocean and trees. The beach itself is clean and wide, with soft white sand. No enforcement of quiet time rule at east end after 10pm. Loud music and loud conversations. Kids had hard time sleeping.
