KATY is an absolute angel.. the way she talks to you makes you feel like you know her for years and years.. the room is nice and comfortable, respectful atmosphere, Every time I go to Badland, this is the place I have to stay.. thank you again Katy for your absolute amazing hospitality.

My friend and I stayed here for one night. We absolutely loved the historic charm of the place. It could still use improvements, but it was a nice, average place to stay. Our room was spacious. The bed was a little rough. Our remote did not reach the television, so we would have to get up to change the channel. There were some details that were missed, such as an empty container of baby wipes left on top of the fireplace in our bathroom. The shared kitchen was unfortunately VERY dirty. The cabinets were caked in dust and grease. It was clear that the kitchen had not been cleaned in quite some time. It didn't bother us too much, though, as we did not need to use the kitchen during our stay. The cameras in the kitchen and living room made us feel uncomfortable. It was an average experience o

My son and I stayed there on our way to the eclipse. The room was very spacious. Good wifi. The house was fully booked and yet it was very calm and quiet. The house has a lot of character, a lot more interesting than staying at a hotel, and for the same price it's an easy choice in my opinion. The owner told my son and I about 2 really cool spots in the area - the waterfall and the mudlavia spring\abandoned resort. Those two spots became a major highlight of our eclipse trip! I also left a very expensive electronic in the room and the staff promptly shipped it to me! Now that's integrity! If you like unique and interesting experiences this is the place for you!

I can appreciate whatever they are attempting to do with the restoration of such an old and historic place BUT they absolutely need to focus on the rooms and inside before the outside. We booked a 2 night stay and were so disgusted that we left after the first night. I'm a guy and refused to take a shower because there is mold hanging from the soap and shampoo hanger. The floor boards, we felt like we were going to fall through. The area rug was so dirty you had to wear shoes the entire time in the room..the pictures on the website aren't accurate at all. I hope the end product proves me wrong. Please focus on the inside. People aren't going to come back because of the rooms, not because the outside needs to be tuck pointed. Just saying.

Very disappointing. Looked nice on line but needs a lot of work. Don’t get wrong I love old houses but the floors were separating grime the walls! There was no one there to meet us. I called 4 times only to get a mailbox that was full. Codes on the doors which we did not receive for 1 hr. It was dark and no lights were on. Dark floors and dark stairway steps blended and if you weren’t careful you could have walked right down the steps. The bathroom sink was full of brown water - I called but since it’s was late no one came to fix it and that’s ok but no one came the next morning either. The sheets smelled musty like they hadn’t been changed for a while.
