Historic Matewan House Lodging

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5 stars We absolutely loved our stay at the Historic Matewan House! The accommodations were incredibly comforting — the kind of place that immediately makes you feel relaxed and at home. A huge thank-you to the owners for being so accommodating and allowing us a late entry. Their kindness truly set the tone for our stay. The homemade breakfast bar was delicious and the perfect way to start the morning. You can really tell how much care goes into every detail. And the home itself is simply beautiful. The historic charm, the character in every room, and the way the property has been maintained all make it a unique and memorable place to stay. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. We will definitely be back! ♥️

Great spot in the middle of this historic little town. Owners/operators super friendly and are happy to share history of Hatfields and the town lore. We rented several rooms. Some were recently rennovated and others are scheduled for rennovation. Mountain Room was awesome. They also served a great country breakfast served every morning. We had full run of the place between about 5pm and 7am. Free snacks, soda (pop) abd water. They also have locking storage for bikes and a wash down area. Train runs right behind the hotel approx every 2 hours, but you get acclimated to it after the first few passes.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. Talk about being treated like family!! Ellen makes the best biscuits and hand pies we've ever had. All in all just a beautiful experience. Thank you for the hospitality!!

We have stayed here twice now and both times we were not disappointed! The people were super friendly, food was good and rooms were Super Clean! The location is great with a trailhead right by the house and several places to eat.

Have stayed there 3 different times. Great owners, nice rooms, love the morning breakfast.
