We went out of our way to stay at the Historic Argo Hotel, while traveling from Cheyenne to KC. To say Crofton, Nebraska is small is quite an understatement. The Argo is similar in construction to other hotels built to accommodate train travel near the turn of the 20th century, but with a healthy dose of nostalgic opulence. The original wood finishes throughout are original and beautifully preserved. The rooms are cozy but comfortable. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and the breakfast was delightful. There are tales of past guests and staff who have chosen to make their stay, ghostly and permanent. Our only experience with this was some shuffling of toiletries while we were out. If asked, the staff will elaborate on the permanent residents. If you find yourself in Northeast Nebraska

I've traveled the world and stayed in 5 star European hotels but never did I find a place more comfortable and cozy as the Argo Hotel in Crofton. Sure it's off the beaten path, but that's the point. Although it's still actually only about half an hour off the I-29 corridor and ten minutes from the Yankton/Gavin's Point recreation area. The hotel itself is about a century old with classic lighting and furnishings but kept up to date with en suite facilities including instant (and ample) hot water. Kept spotless throughout. The most exceptional part of the experience is the great food. Hot made to order breakfast complimentary. Lunch and dinner available and well worth it, especially the steaks. It is run as a BandB and the three generation family of hosts couldn't be more welcoming

My husband and I had a sneak peek at the Historic Argo! We were treated to a fantastic dinner - i had the grilled chicken, and my husband had the ribeye steak. It is an amazing atmosphere with delicious food and friendly staff. The new owners have put their blood, sweat, and tears and money into bringing back the Argo's glory. I highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

This past weekend, we stayed at the Argo Hotel with a large group of friends. We had 18 people total with 9 of their rooms reserved. While there was recently a change in ownership, new owners Todd & Esther, and family took amazing care of us over the weekend. They were welcoming, courteous, and professional. The first night we received a tour of the hotel, with stories of its history and hauntings. Each room has a specific theme and they are all well appointed with beautiful period pieces and artwork. There are bars upstairs and downstairs, a large dining room, and a beautiful porch for late night drinks or early morning coffee. We experienced no paranormal activity while there (fine by me) but had an amazing time overall.

Amazing and absolutely stunning. The Argo is rich with so much amazing history, amazing architecture, welcoming atmosphere, and a beautiful soul. The host is amazing, and most certainly doesn’t lack in culinary skills. Amazing care and attention to detail was put into our entire experience at the Argo. Food was an absolute delight to wake up to every morning, and I’m not a morning person, but the anticipation of our breakfast sure got my behind out of bed. Highly recommend taking at least an entire weekend to just absorb a small portion of what the Argo has to offer! Within hours of our arrival, my husband was already planning our next excursion to the Argo
