Hilltop Motel

Traveling through the area at night after a long day of driving and it started to snow. Me and my family needed a place to sleep and get a hot shower. This was the first place we came to and, though the sign on the door stated the motel was closed for the season, the man in the office was very nice and allowed us to rent a room for the night. The room was clean and warm. The shower had plenty of hot water for our showers. We were very grateful.

Mostly, I'll confirm what other reviewers have said: this little Mom & Pop motel is clean and convenient. They were still taking covid protocols seriously (I had to call to check in as the office was closed). The hotel had obviously been updated with new finishes recently and the bed was quite comfortable. I was a bit concerned that it would be noisy with all the hunters staying during Spring turkey season, but everything was quiet.

I was surprised and impressed by the quality and comfort here. Being one of very few hotel options in the area, they easily could have cheaped out on a lot of things, but didn’t. TV, small fridge, microwave, plenty of outlets, coffee maker, WiFi. Big parking lot. Located close to tons of spots worth visiting like Toadstool park and Fort Robinson. Great communication, easy to get ahold of. They are cash only and don’t have a card reader, which they informed me clearly of upfront. If you don’t have cash, I know there’s an ATM at the Fort Robinson lodge and I assume others somewhere in town. While you’re in town make sure to visit the prairie agate rock shop, practically right around the corner.

My son and I stayed here while on a 5 state turkey hunting trip. We were very pleased with our stay. The rooms were clean and had every we needed. The owners were great to us. Very accommodating and even pointed us in the right direction to find turkeys. We plan to come back in the future to hunt and will definitely stay here again.

I won't come back to this place rooms are ok but the guy who check me in was horrible after checking in my 3rd night after like 10 minutes he started knocking on door he started accusing me of taking shower rags I believe he forgot to stack them in room he demanded me to pay $40 which I responded I didn't took them I got no need of taking rags, really screaming at me, I did pay $20 because I was really tired he took them definitely won't go back to this place he those not knpw how treat customers
