Hickory Hideaway Cabins

Place is awesome. We went during the off season expecting nice weather, but it snowed and got cold on our way there. We still had a blast. My youngest daughter enjoyed the whirlpool and I got the stress free weekend I was looking for. George was super helpful and willing to help with any issues. We will be back.

We found the Hickory Hideaway at the last minute. We were so fortunate they had a 3 day availability in a luxury cabin. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The cabin, itself, was amazing. The bed was so comfortable and the whirlpool tub was incredible. We found the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. We spent our days touring the surrounding area as well as some of Iowa and Wisconsin. We enjoyed some of the restaurants suggested by the owners and back to relax in our wonderful cabin. We enjoyed lovely conversation with the owners as well as other guests. We certainly recommend the Hickory Hideaway in Shannon, IL. We will definately be back!

Loved our weekend at Hickory Hideaway! The Luxury whirlpool cabins are small but super cute and cozy. Booking and contact-free check-in were smooth. The cabin is well equipped for relaxing with drinks in bed or the hot tub. You wouldn't be able to do any actual cooking (we took a griddle for pancakes) but we knew that going in. Loved the little bar, and made use of all the wine & champagne glasses. There were a couple small things that could have been better - whoever cleaned had forgotten to empty the coffee filter, and a few of the blinds were broken (didn't stay up), but overall everything was clean and in good order. We stayed here over Mother's Day weekend for a little getaway. Absolutely loved everything about it from reservation to check out. George and Sherry have created wonderful experience. The luxury cabin was clean, comfortable and had everything you could think of. It was perfectly located with short drives to Savanna, Galena and Monroe. We will highly recommend it to anyone and can't wait to get back.
