Hi-Plains Motel

Friendly staff, fairly nice rooms. The heaters need to be updated. (This next bit is not a complaint, it's more of something I want to see become a standard everywhere) When the tvs need an update, they should definitely do Roku TV's. Honestly they could save money by replacing their TV's and canceling their cable contract. Most people have various streaming services they already pay for, so why pay for wi-fi and cable as a hotel? I could be totally off the mark here, but man it's nice to be able to watch your shows when you're on the road. The rooms are clean and reasonably spacious for a fair price. If you want a scalding hot shower, the water heater here will deliver! The service would be 10 stars if that was an available rating. It was a huge relief to find a room here! Google doesn't

My room was roomy, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. I am very sensitive to old odors and this room had zero negative odors - which can often be a problem in older locations. This is not a new fancy place, but definitely top notch for the location and price.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I called a week ahead to reserve the room and let them know I would be there at 7:30pm. They said that was fine just call the after hours number and someone will come and check you in. Called 8 time no one answer. Ended up having to drive to scott city and stay there then drive back to leoti for my shift at the hospital. Lost out on 1 of the 5 hours of sleep is was going to get just because they don't answer their phone.

We have a crew of guys that stay here every year for pheasant season opening weekend. On the positive side, the beds are pretty comfortable and the staff keep the rooms as clean as they can be, however, the building is pretty old and hasn’t seen any major updates in many years. This is pretty evident in the bathrooms with cracked tubs and potential mold on the ceiling. The owner and staff are always friendly to us and we sure miss the hot breakfast. We will keep staying here as long as they’re in business but there sure is some room for improvement.

My husband had some work to do in leoti and after a long 5 hour drive, we just wanted to rest. Came across hi plains. My now favorite motel! You can feel the genuine love the owner has for his business. He is very kind and family , community oriented. The motel room are cozy and clean. I will come here anytime im on this side of Kansas.
