Hampton Inn & Suites Mahwah

This Hampton Inn is a disgusting dump! Believe all the 1 star reviews, they're all true. The only reason for my 1 star was the friendly staff at the front desk, especially Shawn and Matt. The rooms are gross, musty, smell like dirty socks and are infested with bugs. There are stains in the carpeting everywhere in the hotel. I wouldn't eat breakfast there and felt very uncomfortable in my room which was changed after the first night. I would have left after the first night, but I prepaid ($534.00) for 3 nights. The 2nd room was slightly better, it didn't smell as bad, but was very dated and had a broken thermostat. There were sewer / drain fleas in the sink and insects / bugs crawling on the carpets. This hotel is filthy and a disgrace to the Hilton brand. MANAGEMENT: Don't bother

We changed our travel plans and needed a place in New Jersey near the interstate to overnight. I read good reviews on Google about this property. It is did not disappoint. Matt at the front desk was helpful and checked us in promptly. Our room seemed palatial and while simple, had nice furnishings. The bed was super comfy and we slept well. We stayed near the back of the hotel and were well insulated from any possible road noise. Breakfast in the morning was ample. We enjoyed our stay and were eager to pass along our experience here on Google Reviews.

I have been staying here the past year for automotive manufacture training. The breakfast is usually good for those eating healthy. High protein options are available. Service has always been great even when asking for a simple bottled water. The hotel is right off the highway and is next to gas station with a charging station. Great for those on a road trip.

Positive: The staff was amazing. Negative: My hotel room had a pungent smell of mildew and mold. The sheets were not cleaned, and the shower had black mold. We was there for 2 hours and left. We decided not to stay, because of the condition of the room and hotel. Will never visit again.

This hotel was filthy. The chairs were covered in dirt, the bathroom was full of mildew, it’s clear that this is not a hotel that has been renovated. Bed was uncomfortable, breakfast was ok at best, but thankfully, there was an awesome convenience store adjacent to the parking lot. There were two guys at the front desk that were extremely nice, and one that was horrible. I had booked a suite, but he would not honor the booking up to the point that I called corporate about it. I also saw him be extremely rude to a woman who (thankfully) called him out on it. I wish I had gotten his name… I love staying at Hampton properties, but after this experience, I don’t think I will go back. Hilton wants me to call a corporate number that won’t do anything about it.
