Hampton Inn & Suites Lanett-West Point

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in West Point–Lanett and was excited because the property is brand new. When I arrived, it looked beautiful — modern finishes and a fresh, updated design. Unfortunately, once I entered the room, there was a strong sewer odor. It appears that when the toilet is flushed, it pulls air through the shower drain, allowing sewer gases into the room. The smell made the stay uncomfortable. The floors were also very dirty — I had only walked around the room for a few minutes before showering, and the bottom of the shower quickly turned black from the dirt off my feet. Additionally, the hot and cold water in the shower were reversed. I understand plumbing issues can be costly to fix, but these are not minor concerns — they directly affect guest comfort

I pre-paid online but was wrongly charged again by the front desk. The staff then told me to call the booking site myself—unacceptable service. A memo was written to resolve the double charge, but it vanished overnight. The issue was never properly handled by the hotel, forcing me to call the booking site to fix their mistake. I wasted significant time and energy due to the initial staff's poor attitude and the subsequent disappearance of the service memo. Zero consideration for customer time or convenience.

Rooms were nice stayed in two, they were comfortable. Staff was friendly for me, they get pulled away from the front desk at times and spoke with several customers that were very frustrated. Breakfast staff was very nice and helpful. Housekeeping staff was nice as well, maintenance guy was the less savory of all I dealt with, liked to stand outside my door and flirt with cleaning crew on third floor. I was working nights while I stayed there.

The staff was very unfriendly and would not let us check in. They ended up giving us a number of their supervisor of whom also agreed with how unpleasant the staff and manager were to deal with. There is a report written up and we ended up having to check in on the app after we left so we no longer would have to talk to the front desk because they would not let us get keys to a room that we had previously paid for. The room was quite comfortable and the breakfast was good.

We were in town for a family reunion and enjoyed everything about our stay at this hotel from the kind employees that were a great help from the minute we arrived early from a long road trip from Florida.when you walk in the front door you can tell this hotel is clean and well taken care of, the location was perfect, the breakfast was really good, the indoor pool was really nice, and the rooms were really nice. Definitely will be back.
