Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago-North Shore/Skokie

Edit - The hotel claims this counts as a "kitchenette" and nothing needs to be done about it. So much for their claim about a 100% Hampton Guarantee. I didn't even request a full refund or anything that extreme. Will be avoiding their properties and all Hilton ones in the future. Stayed here from February 25st to March 2nd and the hotel was clean and the staff friendly. They were always polite when dealt with and the cleaning staff did a good job. Location was good for visiting downtown Chicago and nearby areas. Construction outside but that isn't the hotel's fault. The room was large, spacious and the bathroom surprisingly big for a hotel. We had a great stay here while visiting Evanston/Northwestern - the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and we received very friendly service (every single person at the front desk greeted us with a "hello" and a smile). There was a significant construction project on the road by the hotel, and I was a little worried when I saw that the hotel had provided ear plugs in our room, but we did not experience any significant noise during our three-night stay here. Don't be late if you want the free breakfast, though -- they closed the doors promptly.

Positive: Reliably good and clean. Friendly staff. Above average breakfast buffet. Negative: Hotel was fine. Nearby road construction made access and walkability an issue.

I can't say enough good things about my stay here. From the moment we arrived till the point of departure, service was top tier. I had the pleasure of having Fernando for the check in process and he made everything seamless. The cleanliness was commendable. My kids kept saying it felt like home away from home. I felt like it was really a pleasure having us here. We also needed something printed as well and he did not hesitate to assist us. I highly recommend!

The staff handled my request for an additional blanket quite quickly. I did not need to call twice or follow up. Small services like this reflect good management. My stay remained comfortable.
