Customer Reviews
The location was perfect for us. Breakfast was good, Rooms very nice. What bothers us is the ubiquitous PMC parking system. First, the parking garage's first 3 floors are free to the public but not hotel guests although many were seen using them apparently to avoid the $20.00 per night parking fee for the top 3 floors. There is zero security provided for this fee. It is not especially well lit. The only way to properly park is to set up an account via a smart phone and input a lot of personal information, tag#, telco#,and credit card #. No option for cash payment. Lastly, even though there is no cash option, PMC charges 7.5% on top of the $20 per night as a "Service Fee"! What Service? I know this form of nickel and dime gouging is commonplace but hotels need to realize that if no value is
I want to be clear, this review has nothing to do with the kindness, courtesy, or service quality of the staff. The staff, all of them, from the front desk to the kitchen, were wonderful. Accessibility: As a disabled person who needs an ADA room, I have two major issues with Hampton Inn at Carborro. The first is the use of archaic language. I haven't heard the word "handicapped" in nearly 20 years. It has been at LEAST that long since handicapped has been considered an acceptable word to use. This is extremely easy to avoid and is thus, in my view, unacceptable. It is not that hard to replace that language with an ADA wheelchair sign, or better yet, don't put anything on the door at all. As a disabled person, this was upsetting to see. Even worse than the language, this room was not acce
Excellent experience staying here. Everyone on staff was so helpful and friendly. Rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable, parking was easy. Highly recommend, especially if you're in town for a show at Cat's Cradle
My husband and I stayed there last night for a concert (which is on the same block). That was extremely handy. I honestly cannot say enough about the great service we received. From the hotel check-in clerks (there were two that both went out of their way for us) to the cleaning staff just walking by us in the hallways. The room was extremely clean and seemed to have everything you would need. It was very quiet - didn't hear anything, AC worked really well, and the free breakfast was so much better than I expected. I actually enjoyed staying overnight for the concert, which was a very pleasant surprise. The hotel is within walking distance to a ton of restaurants and pubs and practically next door to Cat's Cradle, a concert venue.
Positive: Staff is fantastic always (stayed there several times now). Location is perfect for me Negative: new parking arrangement and paying separately is kind of a drag, but its fine
