Hampton Inn South Hill

Hampton Inn – La Crosse (South Hill), VA Room 300 Stay: February 17, 2026 Based on my highly controlled, peer-reviewed sample size of three Hampton Inn stays on this six-state + one-District crash-pad tour… I can confidently report: Beds = comfy. Pillows = a systematic failure. The mattress in Room 300? Solid. Supportive. No complaints. The pillows? Structural collapse. They flatten faster than airport bottled water budgets. If you’re pillow-particular and have luggage space, vacuum-seal your own and bring it. We’re traveling streamlined, so that was a hard pass. Now — this room is unexpectedly spacious. Hardwood-style flooring, kitchenette with fridge and microwave, hallway separation — it feels more extended-stay than overnight stop. Big enough that I briefly wondered if we were host

Room smelled badly. Seems they sprayed with some kind of chemical to cover up other smell. Asked about it at front desk he start asking “million” questions about what it’s smells like and never apologized. |Floors in the room felt sticky it felt like you walking in McDonald’s kitchen. Some liquid on the nightstand and it wasn’t water. Mold & gunk in the bathroom. Caulking is coming off. Will not stay there again.

Old, moldy, dirty bathroom. Weird idk what on the ceiling (photos attached). Very small drink/snack selection. Bought a Coke and it was nearly flat. Cleaning person pounding on the door at 9:30. At 10:25 vacuuming the hall right outside our door.

The host was very helpful because we couldn't check in before 4, but she said she will call me when a room comes available (10am) and 20 minutes later I a phone your room is ready It's near lots of fast food and cracker barrel also you have Walmart right behind the hotel it's nice location for 18 wheeler who's traveling up and down the road. Also they have complimentary breakfast which was good.
