Hampton Inn Pennsville

As I am a Hilton Honors member, I requested a king room through the app for 1 night - 1/27/26. When we arrived at approximately 6:30pm, my digital key had not been sent to my phone, and I had to stop at the front desk to get key cards. Upon entering the assigned room (303), I noticed a foul smell. Upon further investigation - the bed had no sheets on it and someone had used the toilet AND didn't flush it! (Hence the foul smell) See photos. I then went back to the front desk to inform him of this. He apologized and assigned me room 201; which I was informed this morning was an upgrade. It did have an office space, but this was of no use to me since I had not requested one and had no use for it. I had traveled a great distance and needed to get some rest to continue my traveling this morning

We arrived late at night just needing a place to sleep for the night. We were disappointed in most of our experience. The staff was not welcoming and did not say anything about being a diamond member or offer us any reward amenities without specifically asking for them. Even then, they were extremely limited basically to water and one selection of chips that were not of interest. In our room there was one blind rather than the normal privacy shade and a light blocking shade. The light from the parking lot was pretty bad but the sun in the morning was worse. The bed was the most uncomfortable we have had yet in a HI as were the pillows. The cooler had about 2" of ice on the freezer part which caused everything we put in it to freeze overnight. Positive: "" Negative: I tried to get a blow dryer for the room and they couldn?t accommodate the request, even though the rooms were supposed to have them.

The worst Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in!! Stayed here for work 1 night. When I got to my room it was not cleaned. If I find someone else’s hair in the room it’s not clean. Hair in the bed, on the towels, on the carpet and floor. Who ever “so called” cleaned room 416 needs to be addressed. So disgusting and gross! It looks like a new hotel on the outside but it’s an old building. Exposed electrical outlet socket, elevators shaking/jumping (needs to be serviced), peeling of paint on the ceiling in the bathroom. If you care about cleanliness staying in hotel. Do not stay here!

The staff was very friendly and cordial. The room was very clean and smelled clean when you walked in. The beds were super comfortable. I usually get up a couple times a night and I slept straight through the night. We were traveling from NC to CT, so this place was an easy spot to stop to rest for the night. The only thing negative I have to say is if you have allergies to perfumes/ colognes the soaps they provide are very strong; bring your own.
