Hampton Inn Detroit/Roseville

Here on business so just commenting on anyone searching reviews who does business travel looking for facts. Location is good and has lots of shopping in the area. Lobby/common area at night is dark not welcoming. There is not 24 hour coffee in the lobby like other Hamptons. The laundry room is 2nd floor way in the corner so it's not easy if you need to do that. The mattresses are rigid and do not seem typical Hilton standard or older. If you want to swim the front desk has to let you in the pool so I only did that once because I don't want to have to ask or bother anyone. There has been 2 cars parked under the awning for 2 days so my loading in the morning and unloading at night hasn't been fun, I had to check my app to make sure premium parking under the awning wasn't an upgrade I

We stayed after a house flood and really enjoyed our stay. Great housekeeping people (friendly!) and the check in/out process is easy. Everyone who works there is very accommodating. Only downside wasn’t with the hotel, it was a certain guest who kept crying about pork being served with breakfast (he threatened to leave some bad reviews) so we weren’t allowed to have breakfast meat for breakfast for a few days. Love the waffles. Pool is crowded on the weekends but during the week it’s fairly accessible.

I wasn’t planning to write a review, but after reflecting on our stay, I feel it’s important to share our experience. We stayed here the first weekend of January and immediately ran into issues at check-in. My husband and I had paid for and confirmed a king room in advance, including calling ahead to double-check. Upon arrival, we were told the hotel no longer had a king room available due to “system issues,” which staff acknowledged can happen even when guests call to confirm. We were instead placed in a double room, which was disappointing given the advance planning. We were also traveling with a friend whose experience was far more concerning. Came down for a hockey tournament and stayed at this location. The hotel was very clean including my room. Decent breakfast selection to pick from. Staff was very friendly. Location is good close to anything and everything you'd need. Susan at the front desk went above and beyond to help me locate my lost wallet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
