Hampton Inn Concord/Bow

First the positive - my husband and I slept well and the bed was comfortable. This is a dog-friendly hotel and they only charge $50. The maple sausage on the breakfast buffet was delicious. The bathrooms, or at least ours, has been updated.||Now for the negative - we stayed on a Saturday night on the fourth floor. In the morning, neither of use had hot water for our showers. I don't know if this is a fluke or because this is an older hotel it's something that happens when there is high demand. We did receive a 20 percent discount when mentioning it at checkout. Also, the carpeting in this hotel is in desperate need of replacing. Better yet, why not do flooring in the rooms? It's so much more sanitary. Lastly, we went down to breakfast at about 9 a.m. and there wasn't anyone cleaning tables

Watch the cancellation policy, its 5 days and if your plans change, even 3-4 days out, they'll charge you for the room. If you cancel 4 days before your visit, you'll get charged and they'll fight credit charge backs to enforce the policy. Overall, its a good hotel, family friendly w/ a pool, etc., but if you are going to book it, be 100% sure of your plans

I checked their webside for the rate for 1 night which was $98. When I talked to the clerk to make a reservation, I asked for a room for 1 person & a dog. The clerk said there was a $50/night charge for the dog & quoted $143.81 with a AAA discount. When I checked out, they mailed me a receipt for $193.81. That's when I learned the initial quote even though it stated total price of the stay, did not include the pet. I called & objected & was refunded the $50 pet fee. The reason for my 2* rating is I object to their not matching their own advertised price & charging $50/night for a pet is a ridiculous rip off. Recently, I've had the pleasure of being assisted by a wonderful gentleman named Tom at the front desk. Tom is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome and satisfied. His attention to detail and dedication to customer service truly set this hotel apart.
