Hampton Inn Boston/Peabody

Great Hampton Inn. I travel for work and have stayed here for 2 weeks. Rooms are clean, staff are helpful, breakfast is nice and hot. I have not tried the pool but it looks nice - smells clean if you know what I mean. They also have 3 spots to charge electric cars.

I have stayed at Hampton inns over the years because they are reliably comfortable and clean. Returning from a long flight overseas, we stayed at the hotel in Peabody before flying home the next day. To say this hotel is shabby is an understatement. While the cleanliness level was acceptable, the room was do run down and didn’t look as if it had been updated since the 80s. One outlet in the room and one on a desk lamp far from the beds made it impossible charge phones close to the beds. The smoke detector was literally hanging off the wall. Furniture is chipped and two legs of the bathroom vanity were literally propped up on blocks. For over $200 a night, this is unacceptable.

Needed a cheap place to stay for a few nights while having some work done in our house. It was better than we expected, actually quite nice! Very friendly staff, very clean room, plenty of towels, very comfortable bed, good work space. Plenty of free parking. Room included fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Included breakfast with limited, but tasty, selection: pre-made omelets, bagels, waffles, bacon or sausage, hot & cold cereal, fruit, juice, yogurt, etc. Complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate in lobby - not sure if 24 hour, but seemed to always be available.

Positive: Getting to Salem was easy. Our little girl enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was decent for a hotel breakfast. Negative: Getting in and out of the parking lot was terrible. If you miss the hotel you have to go miles out of the way to turn around. It was frustrating.

The location is perfect and you can easily access Route 1 into and out of Boston. We did not ask for any service so it is hard to rank the service. The rooms on the other hand was a nightmare. We had a wheelchair assessable room and we had enough room to get tye wheelchair in the room and bathroom. We could not access the bed with the wheelchair. The shower has a wooden shower bench that is starting to rot and the edges are slimy. When you shower more water goes onto the bathroom floor than in the shower creating slipping hazard and a very unsafe condition. We had 4 towels on the floor and the water still went beyond the towels.
