Half Moon Pond State Park Campground

Car-camped on 2025.10.07 night at Halfmoon Pond S.P. And got up just before dawn to catch dawn lighting, followed by a ~1.5 mi CW-Loop walk that went around Halfmoon Lake. The trail was in good condition, and seemed well-maintained. Some bird singings, and no other wildlife; lovely Fall colors, and scenic Halfmoon Lake. May i add that the Halfmoon Lake is a hidden little gem👍👍👍

Small campground, very friendly staff and we love the area. Has a tiny beach on the pond, where you can rent paddle boats, canoes or use your own kayaks. It's not large but pretty, and there are other opportunities to canoe, kayak and boat near by.

The environment is beautiful and very quiet. Since the price is 40/night and there is no electricity in the campsite, If you want to take a shower, you need to go to the office to change into Yokens.

Small campground. Stayed in A-loop tent sites. Complaints: way, way too close to other sites. Literally 10 feet away from tents on either side...there is no coverage or privacy at all. Our site was near the bathrooms and the smell was so strong. Just the smells of sewage wafting constantly. Positives: beautiful pond, boat rentals at a great price ($7 for a peddle boat for a half hour), tons of wildlife (fish, turtles, beavers and bullfrogs). Firewood and ice for sale on the grounds. Overall nice place... just maybe a little crowded.

Beautiful little park, staff are great, restrooms are in good shape and clean. Sites right on the pond nice when you can get one, but all sites look good. Ice and firewood available on site, closest convenience store is about 20 minutes one way, so generally pack what you need. Water is good for swimming and frequently tested.
