Gulfway Motel & Restaurant

My husband I and have been coming here for years. This is owned by a hard working family that are passionate and caring. The ac is cold, the showers are hot and the rooms are clean. Yes, its older, but its cheap and clean.Anytime we stay anywhere, I always strip the beds and deep inspect for bed bugs throught the room. Never found anything here but clean sheets. I delt with bed bugs personally about 15 years before staying here, and I dont not wish them on anyone. We feel safe here. The location is prime! If you are a birder this is the best place to stay, all the bird sanctuaries are less than 5 miles from this motel. Stingree is less than 20 mins away, and the beach is less than 5 mins away. Our most recent stay was last weekend and once again we had a relaxing time! Ty for the great mem

Hotel room was clean for the most part. Doesn't come with many amenities. Towels are very thin and small. Took a while for the water to heat up in the shower so I got a partially cold shower in the morning. Airconditioning worked okay but the lights on it starts flashing on and off during the night and made the room light up. Had to get up and turn it off and back on. I like a firm bed, but this bed almost felt like I was sleeping on the floor. The lady working there cleaning the rooms was nice. Outside of our room and around the property a lot of junk was piled up. They really need to renovate this motel and clean up the property. We only stayed there because we wanted to get up early and pick up shells and there aren't many motels on the Bolivar side.

The woman running this place is fantastic. Super friendly and helpful, honestly makes the stay better. My 5 year old daughter lived her! Fast access to beach front and not far from the peninsula hot spots. This place is more the nature side of the coast.. if birds and turtles are your thing, this is the place. Don't forget the mosquito repellent!

Rooms were very clean. We have stayed before and a/c was really cold but this time was not as cold,but comfortable, they did provide us with a fan. The food was fantastic, Asian noodles, dumplings were the bomb. Chicken fried steak, hamburger was all very good. The pool was clean. The family or owners were extremely nice and friendly. It's not fancy but it is a good little place to stay while visiting the beach.

Great place to go on a budget. My husband and I loved this place! Very clean, quaint and cozy. Close to Crystal beach. We stayed in the very back house that has been converted to rooms. Felt like having our own little cabin. Fridge, coffee pot, microwave, and toaster oven avail in room. We took advantage of cooking in the room to save a little money. Nice yard for our service dog to explore. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The food is great! It’s our new favorite place to get away.
