Green Mountain Motel

Nice place. Well worth the money. Clean room, excellent hot water & water pressure. Has wifi, microwave, & refrigerator in the room.

We stayed here on June 11 while on a bicycle trip because there was nowhere else to stay for miles around. Our first impression was that the place was falling down and the owner a bit confused but once we got checked into the building opposite the ruins and away from the prevalent mosquitos outside, we found the room to be very clean and neat. The room was well-maintained so it turned out to be a good place to stay despite our first impressions.

The owners and operators Lisa and Kevin are two of the nicest people you’ll meet. The prices are great. The rooms are cozy and clean. That said we only have one issue and that was with the AC unit in our room; which was too noisy to fall asleep with it on. So we decided to crack open a window and that worked good. Overall it was a blessed experience and we look forward to stopping in there next time are passing through.

This is a great value in a place to stay. I stayed at the Green Mountain Motel (It is not called JC Motel any longer.) during a bicycle trip and found it delightful. Lisa and Scott now own the place and were courteous hosts. Verison does not have cell phone coverage there but Lisa let me make a call on her cell. Don't be fooled by the exterior appearance; the rooms were nice, large with two queen beds, clean and quite. There is WiFi but not TV thank goodness. They have not yet added a coffee maker in the room so I had to wait until Muddy Gap for a cup of Joe. Don't miss the Split Rock Bar and Cafe ¼ mile north. My son and I recently stayed at the Motel to do some rock-hounding in the area and we LOVED our stay. The owners are so kind. It was the perfect escape. The rooms were very clean, which was especially important in this COVID environment. The motel generously provides wifi, which is very important because I had absolutely zero cell service.
