This is one of the most beautiful campgrounds I’ve ever been to. Yes, it takes a short walk to the campgrounds but is totally worth it. There is a composting toilet on site. The campground does fill up quickly on Friday, I would suggest not showing up late at night on a Saturday expecting to find a spot. Also this is a perfect place for a friendly pup to come along. Most people are respectful and quiet by 11pm. Love this community and this beautiful place.
Green Bay Camp Ground 9-4-25 Campground and bathrooms were clean. Camp sites are 1/4" gravel on dirt, so bring an air mattress or cot, or tough it out. The parking is up the hill from all the sites, so keep in mind that you have to pack all your gear down and back up after your stay. Day access is free and overnight is $15 a day for up to 14 days. Views were amazing aside from the smokey air from nearby fires. Sites 1-8 were a little more accessible to water if you want to walk along the beach, kayak, paddleboard or swim. The snorkeling was incredible. Water is crystal clear and the rocks were vibrantly colorful! Kayaking was great too. Could see to the bottom of the lake close to 30 feet and the views from the cove it's nestled in are beautiful. Hidden gem for tent camping and water activ
After a long run on Trail 82 a dip in the lake was just the thing! The water was crystal clear, and the few people there were really relaxed. For a place this far north and at 3000 feet, the water was surprisingly warm. The Mineral Point trail has no access to the water (sheer drops at all the lookouts), so driving back down the road and backtracking a little to the campground is a must.
The views are great! Campsite we were in was perfect. It has a designated campfire pit with a cooking grate. The campsite was pretty much on the water and it was a very short walk down to it camp. Fishing was great. The lake is clean so swimming was great just bring water shoes as the shore and in the water is all rock. The campsites are a little closer together than I would normally prefer but they're not bad at all. There was one campsite toilet. It was kind of a pain to get to without waking through someone else's camp but there was always a bush near by. Getting your tent stalls in the ground can prove to be difficult as it is All rock under the dirt. It's close enough to a store if you need to make a run for ice it's not a problem. All in all a great camping experience and we would de
Probably better on a non swim hot day. Beautiful bay ..great for paddleboards but so many day use ppl bring multiple dogs running all over the place ...dog fighting and no room for the campers that paid to be there. Dirt bikes and trucks doing wheelies in the parking lot...drunken fights and despite it all, camp host was awesome and good attitude despite all the craziness. He kept that place spotless!!!
