Great Cedar Hotel at Foxwoods

I treated my mom to an overnight stay at Foxwoods as her birthday gift. Staying at Great Cedar was excellent as far as location because we didn't have to leave Foxwoods for anything. |Check in was easy. There was a line of about 7 families when we arrived at 2pm but it went quickly. Even though check in isn't until 4 pm, our room was ready by 2:40 pm. The staff at the desk were welcoming and professional.|The hotel was clean and the floor we stayed on (5th) did not smell like smoke. I liked that you had to use your room key to use the hotel elevator. This hotel does not have a pool and I don't know if it has a fitness area because I didn't ask. We walked so much we didn't need a gym. |The room included:|2 queen beds, a desk, a chair with a small side table, tv, mini fridge and coffee maker

We spent 2 nights at this hotel as first stay at Foxwoods. The hotel location was ideal was in middle of everything and parking was easy. The room was dated but clean compared to other reviews. The hallways smelled of smoke and pot. Time to renovate but the pool/gym were closed so why paying a resort fee. Next time we will look at the other hotels but this was cheapest of the 3.

Stayed here Monday night. I should say try to because the room would not cool off check in at 4 PM or so Instantly turned both air conditioners in the suite right down, came back to the room around 10 PM to lay down after eating and gambling. Laid there for an hour or two before I decided I couldn’t sleep in the 85° room got pissed off, packed my stuff and left. Go to Mohegan Sun it’s so much nicer

Thus is my 3rd trip to Foxwoods for dance competitions. It’s huge, appropriately staffed, clean and able to host family, adult and gambling activity all at once. Foxwoods had good dining options for fine dining, family dining and quick bites.

Low rate room at high end price! Run down, cracked tiles, awful shower. Front desk staff who checked us in told us to go to a certain casino to be able to play and smoke yet according to casino staff the whole facility is now non-smoking! Don't waste your time or money going to this place, hell for the price here go to Vegas!
