We spent two nights at cabin #2 at the Grant Grove Cabins. I made a reservation almost a year in advance to stay on an October weekend. Check in is done right up the street at the John Muir Lodge. You can also come here in the mornings for coffee service although the rooms have a Keurig machine. Our family really enjoyed staying here but expectations are important. These are not fancy updated cabins. It is very basic setup and the bathrooms seem like they were built later. If you have stayed at other national park cabins or especially if you enjoy camping you will have no issue with these cabins. We loved being inside the park and easy walking distance to the Kings Canyon Visitor Center, the restaurant, gift shop and grocery store. I would definitely stay here again but would also consider
The tent cabins are just that, a tent with no power yet comfortable. Bring your own flashlights and something to charge your phone if you need. Bathrooms are located near the cabins with showers. I did not use the shower so I won't comment on those. One thing I will say is the staff has to be some of the kindest, most accommodating group I've ever dealt with. They took care of us like no others have and it wasn't the accommodations, it was personal need for change. They are the best and I'd recommend Grant Grove Cabins anytime.
We made late reservations and were glad to have a place to stay in the park. We were in the tent cabins and these were really very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the quilt kept me warm in the chilly autumn night. The bathrooms were typical of a campground bathroom, nothing special, but the water was hot. We were walking distance to the dining room. I would definitely stay here again.
Great location! It was clean and the electric heater provided warmth. Hard to find when dark at night, but the 24/7 check in lodge had games, snacks you can buy, and WiFi. No cooking inside the rooms, but seems like can cook on camp stove outside rooms.
Really loved our stay at the Grant Grove Cabins; my family can't wait to come back. Beds were comfortable and there was always hot water in the bathrooms and showers. We were astounded to find hotel quality fluffy white towels provided for us in the cabins and toiletries in the shower stalls. Kids enjoyed playing outside the cabins where there was plenty of space around the picnic tables. If you're noise-sensitive, bring a pair of earplugs - we had neighboring campers up and talking in the mornings at 6 AM and at night until 10 PM, so you just need to accommodate for this, especially if you have kids. We prepared for our own breakfasts and lunches - you can secure food in the hard sided, elevated tent cabins without having to use a bear locker - and treated ourselves to dinners in the par
