Grand Oaks Resort

We just camped in our motorhome for a few days at Grand Oaks. It was lovely. All of the sites are large and although we had no shade, it was beautiful weather and we had a great, cool breeze and fantastic views. We biked the rolling hills within the property and enjoyed seeing the beautiful horses. We ate dinner at the Bistro. It was excellent. The chicken parmigiana and jambalaya were delicious and the portions were huge. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. This was our 6th visit. We highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

We stayed in their RV Park and it was amazing. What a beautiful place. And very quiet. There is a restaurant on the grounds. Beautiful scenery and lots of horses.

Lodging should be closed down. Joyce should not be managing. We made reservations in the spring. Joyce was difficult for not returning phone calls or emails. We stayed in the bunkhouse. If you like no key to lock up, Bedroom TV not working, bathrooms subpar clean and lack of communication with Joyce the manager then enjoy your stay. We arrived at night and it is 45 minutes to find our place. Serious lack of signage. Actually the directions Joyce gave us were correct but we took wrong entrance so make sure you enter at the gate. We arrived, place was open and a TV on. Very weird. Would not recommend this place to anyone. We even left a day early.

Wonderful campground. Very clean, staff is super friendly. This was our second visit. This visit there was a dog agility competition going on and I was totally fascinated! The previous visit there was a horse show taking place. We are planning to return!

We took guests that came in from Tennessee yesterday to see “The Widow in Mink”. The pros are the food was great, the show was great, and the service was great. The cons that I saw is this is a live play so even though they have TVs on both sides of the walls, I didn’t go pay $60 to watch a TV screen, but unfortunately you can’t pick your own seats so you don’t know till you get there where you’re sitting, and we were all the way in the last row. So the only thing I could see of the show was the shoulder and the head of any of the characters that were not standing, which was most of the time. So personally, I’m not sure I would go back because I like to be able to choose the seats before I pay, and if I had known, I was going to be in the very back row, I wouldn’t have gone that night.
