Golden Plains Motel

We have stayed here for many years when visiting relatives in the area. It had been 2 years since our last stay. It took 3 phone calls to make a reservation as the clerk could not seem to remember the info given to her. Upon arrival it took over 30 minutes to check in...the clerk made several phone calls to get instructions. We paid additional $ to get a room in the new wing where we always stay. The only restaurant in town was closing in an hour and we rushed to it before moving into our room. Our room was terrible, the motel office was closed and only a phone number was posted on the office door. Thank goodness there were two beds as we were appalled by what we found during our bedbug check...photo attached. The 2nd bed had torn sheets which smelled "sour"...I sprayed air freshen

I wanted to take the time to write this review for Scott and His Wife who own the Golden Plains Motel located south of town on US 385 in Holyoke Colorado.| I like to give Credit Due where it's due. I've been hitch hiking and traveling through onto MC Cook Nebraska I couldn't seem to get a ride today. I called Scott the Owner. Him and his Daughter went out of their way and drove a few miles. To cone get me and take me to their Motel so I could get a room tonight and try again tomorrow morning.| This is a Great Mom and Pop American Run and Owned Motel. It is extremely clean and we'll Maintained much more than I have seen in some time. The rooms are very clean nice and totally comfortable.| Scott is a good American Family Man and treats people good. Definitely knows how to run a decent Mot

Perfect for a bird hunting trip; clean and simple. Comfortable beds, hot water, and TV. The other amenities include a microwave and fridge, and the coffee in the office at 5am was much appreciated! An added benefit to the motel is you can back right up to your door making loading and unloading easy. They also have a very friendly staff. I’ll be staying here again and again.

Had a very pleasant stay. Check in was easy, the managers worked with me as I wasn't sure how long I was going to stay they were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and smelled good, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom towels were soft and absorbent. Would highly recommend this motel to everyone.

Rooms were nice and clean, beds were comfortable. We were here four two nights, didn't get any room service so had to call to get towels. Room only had one desk chair to sit in. No one in office, had to call to get coffee. Very nice people seamed to be a little busy to care for customers. No breakfast no way to fix coffee in the room. Very important to a traveler.
