Golden Inn

The Golden Inn is aptly named, this little motel is pure gold. Convenient to I-70 but located on the MUCH quieter route 40. I've stayed here more than once and the rooms are always spotless and roomy. The rooms are nice and quiet too. In the summer the window boxes are full of blooming flowers and roses are growing in the front lawn. You can use the AC or keep your window open for fresh air. In winter they leave a light and the heat on (when you book ahead) and their large drive is cleared of snow. I love the convenience of being able to drive right up to my room and unload my belongings with ease. Every room has a table and chairs, wifi, Roku TV, microwave, fridge, and long dresser. They're pet friendly and Lea Ann couldn't be more hospitable and welcoming if she tried. Independent, fami

We needed a reasonably priced, clean, safe place to stay en route from IL to MD, and we found it in The Golden Inn! The rich history of the Inn and surrounding area detailed in a helpful notebook, the candle in the window welcoming us, the friendly staff, and the flashback to motel rooms of my childhood were all bonus!

Absolutely beautiful, restful spot! We were fortunate to get a room that allowed dogs. We walked the wooded grounds each evening; perfect for our puppy! The room was very spacious. Everything was neat and clean. It was just a short drive to the small downtown area which boasted several restaurants. I highly recommend The Golden Inn. Attached is a view from our window. Lovely, helpful owners with a very clean, quiet and comfortable room. Just what we needed after a long day of driving. Highly recommend staying here. Such a great spot !

Traveling across country with our 4 senior dogs, we discovered this amazing little family run motel just off I-70 but with an amazing rural feel. We reserved two rooms with a pet fee of only $15 per room (2 dogs max per room). Upon entering, we noticed lots of grassy areas to walk the dogs. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were sparkling clean, the carpet looked new, and the rooms smelled fresh. We loved the 1960s style bathroom tiling. We would stop here again in a heartbeat. Also, if you stay, highly recommend Red Front Pizza 4 minutes up the road - absolutely delicious!
